Safety & Emergency Plan

01. All guards must use protective clothing and equipment provided to them during performance of their official security duties.

02. All guards using weapons during the provision of security services should be familiar with the safety locks and procedures of safety locks.

03. All guards performing duties in teams should always have an eye contact with each other for the purposes of back up and support to each other in
case of an emergency.

04. All guards must report on hourly basis to the OPS Room through VHF-FM communication, if provided or through telephone.

05. While traveling in vehicles, the guards and other staff must ensure that they are wearing seat belts and the weapon is pointed downwards.

06. All guards must always ensure that protective clothing and equipment is properly maintained and kept safe.

07. All drivers must ensure that the vehicles are not driven at more than seventy-five kilometers per hour on highways and forty kilometers per hour on normal road.

08. In case of any emergency or threat, the guards must alert by raising alarm by use of rotary alarms placed in the client’s premises or whistles or any other available means to enable other security personnel and individuals present in the area to come to their help and assistance.

09. No smoking is allowed in the areas provided or earmarked by the client and carrying ‘strike anywhere matches’ is totally prohibited.

10. Fire of any kind is not allowed in the sensitive areas and covered office buildings.

11. All personnel dealing with generators and electrical fittings should always use protective gloves.

12. All guards must ensure that fire extinguishers and hydrants are always kept clear of any kind of interference and these are in operable condition. In case of any unserviceable equipment, the security staff must immediately report to their concerned SSG office for their servicing or replacement.

13. All guards performing duties in oil fields or open areas under direct sunlight must ensure maximum intake of water including ORS for maintenance of adequate level of liquid and salts in their bodies lost during heavy perspiration.

14. Any health problem or dis-order should immediately be brought into the knowledge of the senior security staff or Medic for proper treatment.

15. In case of any accident, first aid should be immediately provided to the injured and rushed to nominated or nearest medical facility for medical treatment.

16. No guards shall point loaded or unloaded weapons towards an individual at any time, except in emergencies when weapon is required to be pointed towards hostile or criminal elements.

17. In case of a gunshot to a security guard, a group of security guards and personnel shall endeavor their best to attend to the injured at their earliest
and provide first aid and use all kind of vehicles at their disposal to transfer the injured to the nearest medical facility for medical treatment. The other group of security guards may engage the criminals or offenders and provide cover for the removal and transfer of the injured.

18. The security guards shall immediately inform the concerned SSG office in case of an emergency of above nature or other for immediate backup support from SSG office and other measures.

19. The security guards shall also immediately inform the client and concerned police and district administration about any emergency and expected trouble for their information and precautionary steps to be taken
by them.

20. Any individual tussles or quarrels of security staff should be immediately brought into the knowledge of the security supervisors or senior  management by the guards themselves involved in the incident or other security staff in knowledge of the same for immediate rectification of the issue or other disciplinary actions to be taken, whichever is required.
